William Arnold "AJ" Jones

Mr. William Arnold “AJ” Jones, age 73 of LaFollette passed away Tuesday, March 18, 2025. He was a Member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Mr. Jones was a retired educator with the Campbell County School System teaching Theatrical Arts and English. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree from LMU, and continued his education receiving his Master’s Degree at Union College. One of his many passions included genealogy research. Mr. Jones was a wonderful Father, Grandfather, Son, Brother and Friend, and always had a smile and loved to tell everyone “It’s All Good”. Preceded in death by Father, Everett Jones, Grandchildren, Zoey Jones Renfro, Elijah Renfro, and Lastasia Renfro.

Survivors: Daughters, Lillia Afton Zellers and husband, Russall and Letha Peters and husband, Shawn; Grandchildren, Abigail Peters, Emily Peters, Hayden Renfro, Lanston Hicks, and Sammy Zellers; Mother, Mrs. Lillian Jones; Brother, David Jones and Linda; former Wife and Mother of their Children, Connie Hatmaker; and his Beloved Church Family. Several other relatives and friends.

The family would like to express their appreciation to the entire Staff of LaFollette Court Assisted Living, and Suncrest Hospice for their excellent care.

The family will receive friends on Friday, March 21, 2025, from 5:30 – 7:00 P.M. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Funeral Services will begin at 7:00 P.M. with LaFollette Branch President, Eric Pinkston officiating. Family and friends will meet on Saturday, March 22, 2025, 11:00 A.M. at Mt. Zion Cemetery for Graveside Services and Interment. Walters Funeral Home of LaFollette is honored to be serving the family of Mr. William Arnold “AJ” Jones .
