Mr. William Franklin Baird age 78 of Stinking Creek went to be with the Lord at 6:12 A.M. on Tuesday, December 8, 2015, at Jellico Community Hospital. He was born June 19, 1937, in Harlan, KY to the late Edgar and Essie Baird. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, was of the Church of God Faith, a former Campbell County Constable, and an employee with the Campbell County Highway Department. Besides his Parents, he was preceded in death by Sisters, Evelyn Bolton, Imogene Pierce, Carrie Rutherford, Louise Smiddy, and Lissie Baird, and Brothers, Johnny Baird, O’Dell Baird, George Baird, and Junior Baird.
He was the beloved husband of Verlda Baird of Stinking Creek; Children, Gail Baird, Patsy Trippensee and husband, Allan, Billy Joe Baird, Louann Baird, Brenda Bolton and husband, Lee, and Ronnie Baird; 11 Grandchildren; 14 Great Grandchildren; and 1 Great-Great Grandchild; Sister, Francis Campbell and husband, Frances. Several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services Thursday 8 P.M. at Walters Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Delmus Bruce, Rev. Lester Bolton, and Rev. Hansford Bolton officiating. Family and friends will meet Friday 10 A.M. at Walters Funeral Home and proceed to Davis Cemetery for graveside services and interment with Rev. Pat Ayers officiating with Full Military Honors conducted by the Campbell County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. Thursday before funeral services.
