Ricky Queener

Ricky Darrell Queene r, 64, of LaFollette TN, passed away Tuesday evening, Dec. 29, 2020, at his home in Manchester, TN, due to complications of a long and brave battle with cancer. Rick Queener was born Feb 27, 1956, in Lafollette, TN. and was a longtime area resident. He was known and loved for being a kind and gentle man with a strong faith. He and his wife Kami had recently moved to Manchester, TN.  Before retirement, Rick worked for CSX railroad on the bridge crew. He enjoyed hunting in the Cumberland Mountains and crappie fishing on Norris Lake with his wife. Rick lived life fully and loved being with family and friends, especially playing with his grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was most at home being outdoors, gardening and growing vegetables (especially pumpkins), riding in his ol’ Ford Truck or walking in the mountains.  He is preceded in death by parents, Reverend Harold Edward Queener and Iva Lee Milton Queener, both of Lafollette.

He is survived by his wife, Kami Gibbons Queener, of Manchester, TN; his son, Brian Queener and wife, Taylor, of Madisonville, TN; Grandchildren, Braylon and Bralee Queener, Kylie Vincent, and Aubrey O’Kelley; his brother, Terry Queener and wife, Michelle Leach, of Norris TN.  Nieces and Nephews, Ashley Queener Goins, Sarah Queener Petty, Landon and Zoey Deaderick, Greylan Roy, Claire, Lily and Sophie Goins; Special Step Family, Randy and Ashlyn Vincent, Brandi O’Kelley, Rhonda and Vann Raines, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Respectfully, during the pandemic, the family asks that the 2 pm service at Walters Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, January 2, 2021, be open only to family and close friends.
