Rev. Johnny R. Rains

Rev. Johnny R. Rains age 59 of LaFollette passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2016.  He was a member and Pastor of Guiding Star Baptist Church for the past 18 years.  Johnny was employed with Neighborhood Urgent Care in Jacksboro, and enjoyed playing the piano and singing.  Preceded in death by Parents, Ralph and Flora Rains, and Birth Mother, Norma Jean Pangle.

Survivors: Wife of 30 years, Vida Pierce Rains; Sons, Joshua Rains and wife Kayla, and Jacob Rains and wife Rikkina; Grandchildren, Kimbree, Evander, and Avery Rains; Sisters and Brother, Jana K. McBee and Husband, Mark, Jimmie Ramsey and Wife, Kathy, Sherry Straub and Husband, Rick, Donna Hatcher and Husband, Tom, Karen Sing, and Doris Stroud and Husband, Charles; Aunt, Frankie Boshears and Husband, Hugh; Several Nieces, Nephews, Church Members, Patients, and many friends.

The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 P.M. Saturday at Walters Funeral Home and from 1 – 3 P.M. Sunday at Guiding Star Baptist Church in the Medford Community of Rocky Top.  Private Interment will be held at a later date.  The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to: Guiding Star Baptist Church Fellowship Hall Fund, P.O.
