Rev. Ballard Boon Sweeney , age 81 of Middlesboro, KY, formerly of Jacksboro passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2021. Rev. Sweeney attended Trinity Baptist Church and was the former owner of Sweeney Trucking & Excavating. He was a U. S. Army Veteran and also served in the U. S. Army National Guard. Preceded in death by Wife, Jewel Dean Chambers Sweeney, Parents, Frank and Bertha Perkins Sweeney, Brothers, Jim Sweeney, Robert “Bob” Sweeney, and Ely “Tubby” Sweeney, Sisters, Lucille Rainwater Perkins, Clara Jean Lewallen, Norma Edith Griffin, Sue Trammell, and Dorothy Sweeney.
Survivors: Wife, Mrs. Sharon Griffin Sweeney; Daughters, Elaine “Cricket” Sweeney Wilburn and husband, Kenny, Connie Powers and husband, Carl, and Annette Cooper and husband, Darren; Grandchildren, Michael Orin Wilburn and wife, Katie, Henderson Clay Wilburn, Eli Clint Powers, and wife, Stacy, Caden Sawyer Powers; Great-Grandchildren, Oakes Dean Wilburn and Winifred “Winnie” Jane Wilburn; Step-Son, Matthew Allen Mays and wife, Brandi; Step- Grandchildren, Matthew Brandon Wilburn, Colyer Mayes, and Isabella Mayes; Brothers, Joe Harvey Sweeney and John Frank Sweeney and wife, Pat. Several Nieces, Nephews, other Relatives and Friends.
A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2021, 11:00 A.M. at Valley View Cemetery with Rev. Keith Medley officiating.
