Nolan Welkins Baird

Mr. Nolan Welkins Baird age 96 passed away Friday, October 24, 2014.  He was a 20 year Veteran of the U. S. Navy, and a member of LaFollette United Methodist Church.  Preceded in death by Parents, Aaron Baird and Phoebe Hatmaker Baird, Brothers Adrion Baird, Nathan Baird and Virgil Baird, Sisters, Louise Bryant and Sophie Baird.

Survivors:  Son, Melvin Baird; Daughter, Sharon Baird; Brothers, Willard Baird, Roy Baird and wife, Darla, and Chester Baird and wife, Dorothy; Sisters, Mary Ann O’Donnell and husband, Joe, and Edna Chambers; Sisters-in-Law, Michelene Baird, Marylene Baird, and Thelma Baird.  Special friend and caretaker, Carol Rhea.  Several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services Sunday, November 2, 2014, 2 P.M. at LaFollette United Methodist Church with Rev. Chris Stanfield officiating.  The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 P.M. before services at the Church.  Interment to follow at Valley View Cemetery with Military Honors conducted by the Campbell County Honor Guard.  The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to: Elk Valley Elementary School, 6691 Highway 297, Pioneer, TN 37847.  Online condolences for Mr. Baird may be made at www.waltersfuneralhome.net.  Walters Funeral Home of LaFollette is honored to be serving the family of Mr. Nolan Welkins Baird.
