Michael "Pike" D. Yoakum

Michael “Pike” D. Yoakum of LaFollette TN joined the party in the sky June 22, 2024 surrounded by family and friends. Michael was born Feb. 18, 1965, to Carl Yoakum and Minnie (Robinson) Lockmiller. He was raised in Monroe MI by his loving parents Minnie and Thomas Lockmiller. Pike met his better half & love of his life Sheila (Bunting) Yoakum in Aug. 1986 at a night club in Toledo OH when he took a chance and asked her to dance. The two were married just 2 years later July 8, 1988. That day he not only gained a wife but also two sons, Timmy Woodby & Patrick Bunting. In 1989 their family became whole with the birth of their daughter, Hollie Yoakum.

Pike had a sense of humor that filled any room with laughter. He partied hard but always loved harder.

Pike was met by his mother, father, dad, 2 siblings, a nephew and a niece. Left to carry on his memory are his wife, sons, daughter, 3 siblings, 8 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, many nieces nephews, and countless friends who loved him. 

Michael’s memorial service will be held on Monday, July 1, 2024, 7:00 P.M. at Walters Funeral Home in LaFollette TN. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. prior to memorial services. In lieu of flowers the family would like to request monetary donations to help Michael’s wife with expenses in the time of this loss.
