Mrs. Lenore Allen McCullah - age 93, of Pioneer, TN, formerly of Capuchin, passed away at her home Wednesday, August 27, 2014.  Born March 2, 1921, Lenore lived a long and productive life.  Along with her husband Luther, she owned and operated the Luther McCullah Coal Co.  She was a member of Stanfield Church of God and a member of the Campbell County Republican Women’s Club.  During World War II, she worked as one of America’s “Rosie the Riveter" in an airplane factory.  Lenore had many talents and was especially known for her “green thumb” at gardening.  She canned, preserved, and shared the many fruits and vegetables that she grew.  She was an excellent seamstress and loved to visit with neighbors, friends, and family.

Lenore is preceded in death by her husband Luther McCullah; son, Jerry Ben McCullah; parents Millard and Essie Allen; brothers Glen J. and wife Effie Allen, Charles and Harrison Allen; sister Garneda and husband Harold Anderson.

She is survived by daughters Bonnie McCullah and Mamie Knott; grandchildren, Tracy and Dwight Van de Vate, Grant and Felicia Kitts, Aaron Shannon and Monique Kitts, Zachary and Kellie Kitts, Scarlett Kitts and Derick Shular, Michael and Lisa Knott, David and Wendy Knott; great grandchildren, Victoria, Ike and Holly Van de Vate, Nathan and Anna Kitts; Molly, Andrew, and Logan Kitts; Simon and Cameron Kitts; Conner, Parker, and Callie Grace Knott; Seth, Summer, and Savanna Knott; brother, John Earl and wife Nancy Allen; sister, Ruby and husband Joe Brunty, and many beloved nieces nephews and neighbors.

Funeral services Saturday August 30, 2014, 2:00 P.M. at Walters Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Delmus Bruce officiating.  Interment to follow at Melvin Cemetery.  Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.  The family will receive friends from 12 to 2 P.M. before services.  In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Stanfield Church of God or your favorite charity.  Online condolences may be made at www.waltersfuneralhome.net .  Walters Funeral Home of LaFollette is honored to be serving the family of Mrs. Lenore Allen McCullah.
