Mr. James "Jim" Frederick Lively, a man of steadfast faith, devoted service, and boundless love, was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on Wednesday, April 17, 2024. He was born on April 19, 1943.  Jim leaves behind a legacy of compassion, humility, servanthood and kindness that touched the lives of all who knew him.

Jim's life was characterized by his servant heart as demonstrated in his service to his church, his family, his country, his students, and his customers.  Jim faithfully served his church as a deacon and as a person willing to do whatever was asked in service to his Savior.  For his family, he consistently demonstrated love and compassion and served as a model of integrity and faith for his daughters.  For his country, he served in the United States Air Force, an experience for which he was immensely proud.  For his students, he helped positively shape countless young minds not only with facts, but also with the knowledge that they were loved.  Finally, for his customers, Jim delivered medicines to the homebound.  This is perhaps where his personal ministry shined brightest.  His visits, compassion, conversation, and prayers were often the primary focus, while the delivery of medicine itself sometimes appeared secondary.  His legacy of love, faith, and selflessness will forever inspire those who were touched by his presence.

He is predeceased by his parents, Ralph and Virginia (Croson) Lively, and brother, Ted Lively, whose memory he held dear.

Jim is survived by his loving wife, Judy Leach Lively, with whom he shared a lifetime of cherished memories. He is also survived by his two daughters, Windy Robbins (Dennis) and Nikki Lively-Becker (Scott), and his granddaughter, Ashlinn Grace Robbins, who brought immeasurable joy to his life. In addition to his immediate family, Jim is survived by his brother, Tom Lively (Sherry), brother-in-law, Ted Leach (Kay), and numerous loving Nieces.

A celebration of Jim's life will be held on Friday, April 19, 2024, 7:00 P.M. at New Horizon Baptist Church, where friends and family will gather to honor his memory and legacy. A time to receive friends will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. Friday before services.  Family and friends will meet Saturday, April 20, 2024, 11:30 A.M. at Walters Funeral Home and proceed to Powell Valley Cemetery for 12:00 P.M. Graveside Services with Military Honors to be conducted by the Honor Guard of Campbell County.  The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to New Horizon Baptist Church in recognition of Jim's commitment to ensuring others would come to know Jesus as their Savior, just as he did.  Though Jim may no longer walk among us, his legacy will continue to live in the hearts of all who were privileged to know him.  Walters Funeral Home of LaFollette is honored to be serving the family of Mr. James "Jim" Frederick Lively.
