Jane Rasnake

Ms. Jane Rasnake, 98, of LaFollette, passed away Sunday, March 9th, 2025. She was a lifelong resident of the College Hill community.

Jane was born March 13th, 1926, to Mark and Kate Rasnake.

In 1942, Jane graduated from Jacksboro High School. She went on to further her education at Lincoln Memorial University and the University of Tennessee where she earned her bachelor's and master's degrees.

Jane taught at Caryville Junior High School, Wynn High School, LaFollette High School, and Campbell County High School. She retired in 1990 after 45 years of service to the Campbell County School System. She was also a long-time member of Delta Kappa Gamma International – Alpha Theta Chapter, and Order of the Eastern Star.

She attended Cedar Hill Baptist Church her entire life and was a faithful member who served in a variety of ways from pianist, choir member, church custodian, cooking benevolence meals, making crafts for church yard sales, serving in the WMU, and many other areas. She was always willing to stand in the gap and make up the hedge.

Janes is preceded death by her father, Mark Rasnake; mother, Kate Rasnake; brother, Marshall Rasnake; special cousins Bus and Louise Madron; and pastor and dear friend, Ronnie Arnold.

Jane is survived by the Arnold family; great-grandchildren, Clark, Emma Kate, Madison, Laney, and Harrison. She is also survived by L.C. Madron and family, Joyce McMullin and family, and a host of other family and friends.

Kathy Arnold, Troy Arnold, and his wife Jamie provided invaluable support for Jane in her later years, though their care was but a small reflection of the boundless love and unwavering assistance she had given them throughout their lives.

Visitation will be Wednesday, March 12th at Cedar Hill Baptist Church from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will directly follow led by Dr. Bryan Burge and Bro. Troy Arnold. The graveside services will be held on Thursday, March 13th at Bakers Forge Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Cedar Hill Baptist Church Deacon’s Benevolence Fund (636 Demory Road, LaFollette, TN 37766).
