James Lendon Byrd

Mr. James Lendon Byrd, age 83 of Duff passed away on Thursday, July 11, 2024. Lendon was born July 16, 1940 to parents, Costo and Wonnie (Beaty) Byrd and was a long-time construction worker where his career took him all across the country. He was a member of Jacksboro Masonic Lodge #322, F & AM, and was of the Baptist faith. Lendon enjoyed having a good cup of coffee on the porch, attending auto races, and gardening. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Randy Byrd, and sister, Alla Faye Mefford.

Lendon is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Brenda (Hughes) Byrd, daughter, Sharon Dameron and husband, Derrick; step-daughters, Connie Letner and husband, Emmitt, Donna Moore and husband, Kyle, and Hollie Minton; Grandsons, Cory Minton, Ryan Morris, Sammy Morris, Mason Minton, Haeden Shears, Channing Shears; Granddaughters, Rachel Bittinger, Zoe Dienhart, Whitlee Salyer, and McKala Cruey; 13 Great-Grandchildren; Sisters, Niva Jean Williams, and Barabara Daugherty and husband, Arlie; nieces and nephews, Dee Baker, Pam Daugherty, Michelle Munsey, Delain Williams, Greg Williams, Sheila Nelson, David Daugherty, and Terry Mefford; special cousins, Wayne Byrd and Jeff Byrd; and special friends, Dennis Clear, Donnie Jones, and Brandon Asher. 

It was Lendon’s wishes that no services be held, but to remember him by taking the time to enjoy a good cup of coffee on the porch, just like he would do. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to: Campbell County Cancer Association, PO Box 122, Jacksboro, TN 37757. Walters Funeral Home of LaFollette is honored to be serving the family of Mr. James Lendon Byrd.
