Mr. Edward Lee Overton of Waldorf, Maryland, passed away Monday, August 7, 2017. Born on January 27, 1944, in Knoxville, TN he was the son the late Katherine Green and Robert Overton. Fondly known as “Ed” and “Eddie”, Mr. Overton served in the U. S. Navy during Vietnam being Honorably Discharged. He then worked for METRO in Washington, DC and served as a Station Manager. Ed was an avid Washington Redskin fan and would visit Wal-Mart, Lowe’s and Home Depot on occasion. He was a collector of a variety of articles but his greatest joy was being with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his Wife of 50 years, Charlene Owens Overton; his Daughters, Melissa Overton and Melinda Ann Drumm and her husband Francis; Brother, Raymond Overton, Grandchildren, Matthew Long, Jr., Kayla Stark, Korey Hamlet, and Aldan Drumm; one Great Granddaughter “on the way”, Meadow.
Graveside services and interment Monday 11 A.M. at Powell Valley Cemetery & Memorial Gardens with Rev. Chris Thomas officiating.
