It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Bobby Lee Smiddy Davis, a.k.a “Furduck” who left us on March 17, 2025 at the age of 83. Born in Michigan on June 3, 1941, Bobby was a beloved member of Jacksboro, Tennessee and touched the lives of many with his kindness and generosity.

Throughout his life, Bobby was known for his passion for fishing and playing music. Whether casting a line into the waters at dawn or strumming a guitar under the stars, he found joy in both the tranquility of nature and the rhythm of melodies. His ability to bring people together through music and shared fishing trips created countless cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.

Bobby is survived by the mother of his children Rosemary Gambrel, Son Bobby Smiddy Jr., Daughter Sandra (Larry) Ellis, Sharlene Shackelford, Son-in-Law Lars Lovegren, Grandchildren Chris Ellis and fiancé Joy Otto, Taylor Mackenzie Lea Shackelford, Sarah Lovegren, Jacob Lovegren, Hannah Lovegren, Great-grandchildren Mya Friday, Clyde Ellis aka: Coe, By his side and company of 8 yrs Bobby’s dog Buddy, Close to Bobby’s heart as his son and fishing buddy Jimmy Mynatt; who will cherish the memories created together.

Along with his biological family and after the age of one when Bobby was adopted, he was a son and brother to many people that he loved and became family.

He was preceded in death by his Father Marion Smiddy, Mother Betty Ellen Murray, the man who raised him, his “Dad” Willie Davis, Brother Jimmy Smiddy, Daughter Sally Lovegren, Son-n-law Dallas Shackelford.

The family of Bobby Smiddy will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at Green Hills Funeral Home with a celebration of life where friends and family are invited to share stories and honor his legacy with Rev. Lonnie Lyke officiating and music to be provided by Linda Ogan and Chris Ellis.

Graveside Services will immediately follow at Green Hills Memorial Gardens, Middlesboro, Kentucky. Pallbearers will be Larry Ellis, Mitch Ellis, Glen Ellis, Jacob Dylan Messer, William Hollen and Jimmy Mynatt.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Saint Jude Hospital and Claiborne County Animal Shelter, a cause that was dear to Bobby's heart. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered.

A special thanks to his nephew Jessie (Diana) Moore for the blessings of timeless phone calls of prayers and love.

A special thanks from Bobby’s family for their love and professional care they gave Bobby at Tri State Nursing Home and Rehabilitation. Bobby was saved at an early age but when he became a resident at Tri State, Bobby loved to talk about Jesus to his family and pray daily.
